THE CLAY END

It is through experiments on the street that we have discovered lots of us love clay! There is a lot to be learnt through ceramic making, but importantly we enjoy working together on a clay journey from sculpting and press moulding to completing a finished product. It is important to us to be able to see the immediate transformation that clay enables – especially when we can work together around a table and have many conversations about our neighbourhood.

Tile Project

We are co-designing & producing ceramic tiles to be installed inside ‘PIP’ – our future community space and cultural building.

The Fern Brick

The Portland Inn Project have developed a brand new product, as part of our social enterprise. Ceramic artists Joanne Mills and Sarah Fraser have collaborated with PIP artist Anna Francis to create a garden ware for Portland St & beyond, The Fern Brick.

We live in a neighbourhood that for many years has been marginalised – which not only affect’s the decisions made about people’s lives, but also the environment we live, play and work in.

The Portland Pigeon

It is from our growing social enterprise that we are able to design, prototype and perfect our Portland Pigeons, with the help of local residents.
