We are looking for a graphic designer or illustrat

We are looking for a graphic designer or illustrator in the West Midlands to collaborate with our Youth Board as part of a small project to create a visual identity for the Youth Board and campaign materials for an upcoming youth-led social action project in our neighbourhood.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside young people who are passionate about making change in their community. We’re looking for a designer or illustrator who values collaboration and can work with our young people to turn their ideas into a bold, authentic, and engaging visual identity. This new social action campaign will amplify youth voice and address issues identified by the board. The designer will play a key role in helping bring this vision to life.

✍️Deadline April 10
🤝Project May-June
👉Fee : £1750 (anticipated approx 5 full days work in total across the project)
Plus – across the project :
£150 materials
£100 expenses (if you are coming from outside of Stoke in the West Midlands and need more budget for travel, we will support this!)
🌍 Location: IN PERSON sessions with us in the neighbourhood – Hanley, Stoke On Trent

1. A response to the following 3 questions from our Youth Board (600 words total) :
A>What motivates you to be a graphic designer/illustrator?
B>Why would you like to do this project with us at the Portland Inn Project Youth Board?
C>How can you help us to make our project successful and get our ideas across?
2. X3 examples (description and images) of relevant work (particularly collaborative or community-based projects)

We are very grateful for a brilliant team and for us all to have time together to reflect, plan and dream for @theportlandinnprojectcic 🌞 This week we had 2 days together in Buxton, where team members shared what we have been working on this last year and discussed how we can support each other in a year that marks a huge milestone for our organisation. It’s been ten years of @theportlandinnprojectcic and ten years of work in our neighbourhood. We are so excited for what 2026 holds!
Our Neighbourhood Workshop is going to be popping with so much street level activity and skills sharing that continues to strengthen our community, organisation and neighbourhood. This year is importantly the year we ready ourselves to take on managing an ambitious community asset, so there is a lot to plan and do together to ensure our organisation does this confidently and collaboratively with our neighbours.
Beautiful food cooked together, joyful laughter and dreaming collectively is a crucial part of this work 🌞 Thanks again to our team for continued graft and care on this journey!
