If you’re interested in learning, collaborating and organising in the spaces outside of trad frameworks and institutions - join us on the evening of Thursday April 9, as Ames and Emma lead a fun and informal event sharing knowledge, stories, hopes and dreams - and what dreams for an alternative art school can look like in action - AKA @theotherma 💘💛🌻✨ LINK IN OUR BIO!
PLS NOTE - this event will take place at our temporary office on Piccadilly - address and directions will soon be updated on the eventbrite. Access to the space is via one flight of stairs - we apologise for any restrictions this may cause to access on this occasion.

We are so pleased to introduce our new Artist/Gard

We are so pleased to introduce our new Artist/Gardener in Residence @msdmeanar Deb Rogers. Deb will be working with us for the next year and has prepared a few words of introduction. You can come and meet Deb at our Spring Day and chat about plans for resuming Gardening Club now that Spring is with us. ‘As Artist Gardener in Residence, Deborah will invite neighbours to collaborate with her in the ongoing development and understanding of the biodiversity in the hybrid green, brown and grey spaces surrounding the Portland Inn Project. She will programme sessions that examine the neighbourhood as a space for growing food and nature, nurturing the plants and more-than-human species present and working with neighbours to plan and deliver interventions that bring us closer to nature and support local ecologies.

Deborah has over 30 years of experience working creatively with communities. As a local visual and performance artist, she explores the care of human and more-than-human beings and plants and how we can live together better. Her approach is responsive and experimental, often utilising existing resources and working with creative materials and techniques in sustainable and accessible ways.’

Come and join us on Tuesday 31st March 2026 from 1pm – 3pm outside The Pippin 💛

It’s a relaxed, friendly afternoon to get together during the holidays, enjoy some activities, share food, and connect with people in our community 🌷

There’ll be plenty going on for all ages – so just pop by, say hello, and celebrate spring with us! 🌼

A huge thank you to@vastvolunteering for coming to share information about volunteering, to @cornerstoneslimited for providing updates on the building, to @social_connective for doing basic bike repairs and to all of our fantastic neighbours and partners who help make events like this possible.
